These are the kind of deeply humorous, deeply true stories that inspire a love of reading! Story Number One: The Clock George gives Martha a birthday gift that she just canât seem to fit in her home. Story Number Two: The Trip George and Martha use their imagination as they take a trip on an ocean liner. Story Number Three: The Artist George and Martha learn about artistic interpretation.

| Customer Reviews: George and Martha Rock! September 13, 2009 L. Foley (Cinnaminson, NJ) This was the first George and Martha book we got for our granddaughter, who recently turned four. She's enjoyed these two friends so much that we've been buying some of the others, too, but I think I like this one the best. With a wonderful economy of words, the stories in each book manage to imply a great deal about their relationship, and it's fascinating to see how a young child 'gets' all of the things left unsaid--why one of the characters did something, and how they felt, and so on. These are perfect for emerging readers, too, because after a few reads, the child knows the story and is able to flip through the pages and tell it back to him/herself.

The characters of this book were well developted. You could tell what George and Martha were like. The book shows how important a friend really is. Even thouhg you may get into fights, it's best to forgive. The book shows this idea through a couple of different situations.
