I bought this book a few months ago on a whim for my 1-yr old, and it turns out to be a good purchase, despite his being younger than the recommended age. He often chooses it from his library and goes through it page by page, flipping open the flaps to see the hidden pictures underneath. Naturally, he's not very gentle with the flaps and some are slightly torn, but that's the extent of the damage. He even pretends to "read" the story and his enthusiasm is obvious, which is the point of having fun children's books, isn't it?
